HALLOWEEN NIGHT WITH DRACULA
\

Itinerary: Budapest-Cluj-Piatra Neamt-Sighisoara-Bran Castle-Poiana Brasov-Sinaia-Snagov Lake-Bucharest

TRANSYLVANIA is easily the most romantic and scenically inspiring of Romania`s three provinces. The very name conjures up visions of mountain peaks soaring to the sky above wooded valleys and sparkling streams, high roofed wooden churches, legendary castles and a turbulent history.

Transylvania is located in the central part of the country, surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains, which rise in a great arc across Romania.

A favorite excursion is to the Castle of Bran, the home of Prince Vlad Tepes, on whom the Dracula legend was based. Later the film "DRACULA" taken from the Bram Stoker novel assured this castle a place forever in history, to be known throughout the world as Dracula’s Castle. This magnificent Castle is a remarkable example of medieval architecture, built between 1377-1382, on a 180 foot high rock.

Today, the castle is the home of a feudal art museum (weapons, medieval furniture, hunting trophies, for example). But is most commonly known for being the home of the famous Count Dracula, the vampire, who's origins are in Medieval Transylvania.

Both the "Golden Crown Hotel" and the "Hotel Dracula" were built as the Irish writer, Bram Stoker. described them in his novel. They are unique in Romania and in the world. In August 1997, the former king of Romania and his wife were served a royal banquet in the "Golden Crown Hotel".  And here Jonathan Harker felt as if he was in his mother's home.  In the "Jonathan Harker Room", there is collection of Count Dracula's hunting trophies with more than 25 unique items, such as chamois, wolf, wild boar, goshawk, woodpecker and silver fox.

In it's saloon, the 'Jonathan Harker', you may be served a special menu, aptly named the "Jonathan Harker", including the famous "Dracula Elixir", Medias white wine, or upon request, "Lecvin" a special wine produced in Romania and appreciated all over the world. Every guest is given a souvenir "Dracula Cup" to remind them of their stay at the hotel.    .

To learn more about the legend of Dracula and the story of Jonathon Harker, join us for our annual tour, highlighted by a fabulous Halloween costume ball in a splendid castle.

We people of the mountains believe at the Castle there are vampires. Dracula and his wives - they take the form of wolves and bats. They leave their coffins at night and feed on the blood of the living.
